How It Works

The Watch64 Standard.

From sourcing to ownership transfer, every step is designed to protect the buyer and preserve the integrity of the timepiece.

What Makes Watch64 Different

Watch64 is not a listing aggregator or auction house. We are a curated marketplace where every timepiece is sourced exclusively from four Swiss cities, verified by independent experts, and sold with a legally binding Sales Contract. The documentation is the product as much as the watch itself.

The Documentation System

Every watch listed on Watch64 carries two primary documents: a Certificate of Authenticity (confirming brand, reference, serial number, condition, and origin) and a Sales Contract (establishing the legal transfer of ownership from seller to buyer). Both are issued by Watch64 and carry our institutional stamp.

The Sales Contract

The Sales Contract is the cornerstone of Watch64. Executed under Swiss law with Geneva as the designated jurisdiction, it serves as internationally recognized proof of purchase. The contract names the seller and buyer, describes the watch in full detail, records the sale price in CHF, and is counter-signed by a Watch64 representative. This document is what makes our watches border-safe.

At the Airport

Consider this scenario: you have purchased a Rolex Submariner through Watch64 and are flying from Geneva to Paris. At French customs, an officer notices the watch and asks for proof of ownership. You present your Watch64 Sales Contract and Certificate of Authenticity. The officer sees the watch description, serial number, your name as the buyer, the sale price, and the Watch64 institutional stamp. Verification is immediate. You proceed without delay.

Our Authentication Process

Before a watch is listed, it passes through a rigorous authentication pipeline. Our certified watchmakers inspect the case, dial, hands, movement, bracelet, and all accompanying documentation. Serial numbers are cross-referenced with manufacturer records. Condition is graded on a standardized five-point scale. Only watches that meet our criteria are accepted.
